We are seeking a highly self-motivated and skilled candidate for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (PDF) position for a joint project of Drs. Sidong Huang (Goodman Cancer Centre) and William Foulkes (Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre/Lady Davis Institute) at McGill University.,, Note: this PDF position will be paid through the RI-MUHC.

Project: The PDF will use CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing tools to generate cell line models systems of sarcomas with DICER1mutations and conduct synthetic lethal screens to identify druggable targets for the treatment of DICER1-associated sarcomas.

Primary Duties: Use CRISPR/Cas9 tools to edit DICER1 locus in cell lines, perform pooled functional genetic screens; hit validation and mechanistic studies; in vivo validation with xenograft experiments; Assist with grant and manuscript preparation; co-supervising students.


PhD degree completed no earlier than 2018 in Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry or related biological sciences.


Solid skills in Molecular Biology. Examples include but not limited to: tissue culture experiments, lentiviral transduction, cell proliferation/viability/drug response assays, Western Blots, qRT-PCR, immunoprecipitation and other Molecular Biology/Biochemistry assays.

Strong experience in CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing

Publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals

Knowledge of data processing and statistical analysis

Excellent written and communication skills in English

Organized, self-motivated and excellent team player
