Full-time Research Assistant (starting from August 2020)

35 hours/week; starting $28.15 per hour

PRIMARY DUTIES
The research assistant will use functional genetic and biochemical tools to study signaling pathways that regulate drug responses to cancer therapeutics and to identify novel drug targets.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Performing and analyzing functional genetic screens (shRNA, cDNA, CRISPR)
• Conducting in vitro experiments using diverse cancer cell lines:
Retroviral, lentiviral transduction
Cell proliferation/drug response assays
Western Blots, IP, IF, qRT-PCR and other Molecular Biology/Biochemistry assays
• Assisting in vivo animal experiments
• Taking care of other routine lab tasks

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• MSc degree in Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry or related field
• Previous research experience in above disciplines or related field
• Solid experience in cell tissue culture and molecular biology
• Knowledge of commend line, data processing and statistical analysis

OTHER QUALIFYING SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals
• Self-motivated and excellent team player
• Experience in FACS, screening and animal handling is a plus
• Excellent written and communication skills in English
